Photo Journal | Switzerland

I finally started chipping away at photos from our time in Europe. I figured I'd share them in order, so we'll start with Switzerland! When we decided we were officially going to go, I texted my friend Paige about their family coming and surprisingly they signed up! It's good to have friends that are always up for an adventure. Their daughter is Wilder's age, so it was really nice for him to have someone to play with for the week. The three days that we were in Europe without other kids was definitely the most difficult stint of the trip for him. I would highly suggest traveling with other friends or family if you are planning to do an international trip with a toddler. The more hands the better!

We stayed at an airbnb in Wengen, Bern. Wengen is a charming little, car free village in the Jungfraujoch Region of the Swiss Alps. There are trains and gondolas that you can take to the other surrounding mountain towns, so it's fairly easy to get around without a car. You can see some of the areas we visited linked below the photos.

Side note, but I left my Canon 5d mark iii at home and traveled with the Fujifilm X-T2 instead. A lot of you had asked how I liked it, and I was pretty happy with it overall. The size and lightness was a definite win. I'll probably never travel with my big camera again unless it's work related. I upgraded and got the 35mm 1.4 lens, but I will say it's weird going from a full frame to a camera with a smaller sensor. I missed my full frame, but can definitely live without it when traveling with a toddler! The colors are also very different on the Fujifilm camera, so editing was a little werid. You can tell the colors are a little off from my normal style, but I am sure that's an easy fix if it's a big deal to you.

Anyways, hope that if you have kids this will inspire you to get out and explore the world with them. I'm not going to lie, it was freaking hard at times, but I am already asking Connor where we are going next...so it's worth it ;)

We passed the cutest mountain cottages on our long and steep walks to and from our airbnb. Worth it though!

We took the train to Interlaken for half a day. It's a much busier area than where we were staying, but fun to explore for a few hours.
